UCLA PGP PRO Workshop: Managerial Finance, Leadership, Strategy & Careers

Managers in every functional area are increasingly required to understand and apply the basic principles of financial accounting and finance to improve the effectiveness of their operations and strategy, to ensure the completeness and correctness of financial forecasts and budgets, and to work more effectively with the financial managers of their organizations. This workshop builds on the learning and experience from the online courses on financial accounting and corporate finance from HBSP and ensures that participants develop a vocabulary and a working knowledge of important financial measures that can help them become more successful in their careers. The emphasis of this workshop will be on the application of accounting and finance concepts to several real life situations as experienced by case studies and filings from real organizations. We also want to focus on some of the management essentials such as leadership, strategic mindset, problem solving method and solving case studies. We will work on Negotiations, Influence and Persuasion in the various situations at work where you as a team leader or team member need to create positive outcomes for yourself and your team, even without any direct authority or control and getting the most out of the PGP PRO experience and also a discussion on structuring and navigating your career from this point onwards.
